The Basque autonomous community contains a number of cities. I have write ups on the Basque cities of Bilbao, Laguardia and San Sebastian (Donostia).
The Basque people extend beyond the border of the Basque autonomous community in Spain, many live across the boarder in to France. United by a unique language that likely predates the other languages of the region, by several thousand years, the Basque people may derive their ancestry from the oldest settlers of Europe.
An over looked region by many tourist, the Basque country is a travelers delight. The Basque take their food very seriously and serve up some of the best dishes in all of Spain. Mountains, ocean beaches and hill top walled villages (like Laguardia) can be found within its borders.
