An on-line guide can be helpful, but to really plan your trip you still need a good, book guide (or two).

I use three guides when planning my visits to Spain. I like the Eyewitness Guides to help me select the cities and attractions to visit. Once I know where I'm going, I then use the Rough Guide or the Lonely Planet Guide to get more detailed information.

When it comes to planning my trips, I like visuals, and the Eyewitness Guide for Spain is loaded with them--lots of photos, 3-D maps of city centers, and cutaway drawings of major attractions. I also like guides that help me appreciate the attraction, such as historical background, what makes the architecture special, descriptions of regional cultural variations, etc. The Eyewitness Guides are very good at giving short but clear descriptions, which help to put an attraction in context for the visitor. Weakness - Hotel section lacks the low-cost options; limited information on planning a trip using the bus and train system

For on-the-ground reference I prefer the Rough Guide or Lonely Planet Guide. Many people consider the Lonely Planet Guide to be the number one guide book on Spain.

A large selection of printed Spain Travel Guides can be found in the Travel Book section of my Travel Store. Look for the Spain Book Guides link under the Browes by Catagory section.
