In
total, there are 53 painted panels in the
altarpiece displaying events in the life
of Jesus and the Virgin. In the center of
the first and second rows can be seen a
statue of Virgen de la Viega, the patron
saint of Seville.
In the semi-dome alcove above the
panels is Florentino’s painting of
the Last Judgment (see below).
