La Lonja, the Market Exchange of Zaragoza dates back to the Renaissance.

Prior to the construction of the Market Exchange (1541-1551AD) the merchants of Zaragoza carried out their business negotiations primarily in the churches of the city.

Italian Renaissance influences can be seen in the building. Inside is a spectacular open space, constructed of tall brick columns and a soaring vaulted ceiling.

These days, the La Lonja building is used as an exhibition hall. Closed on Monday's, visitors can usually gain entrance on Tues - Sun, opening times vary. At the time of this writing, access is free.
